Description:
Forms dense thickets bordering wetlands and along streams; does an excellent job preventing erosion. Stems will root with ground contact. Provides safe habitat for nesting birds; leaves feed a number of native caterpillars. Interesting cone-like seed structures remain on the plants through winter adding a bit of interest. NATIVE.
