Large, divided, palmate leaves with dainty white flowers held high above on thin, wiry stems. Flowers in late spring/early summer. After pollination, the seed heads elongate and ripen throughout the summer. In fall and persisting into winter, seed heads become a cottony fuzzball adding seasonal interest. Grows in wooded clearings and meadow edges. Contact with the foliage can cause allergic dermatitis in sensitive individuals. NATIVE.
