Description:
Native from New York south to Tennessee, this hickory produces the largest nuts of them all which are sweet and delicious. Occurring in lowlands -usually along waterways- moist, rich soil is a must to have a healthy tree. Will even tolerate seasonal flooding. Bark is similar to a shagbark, but not as pronounced.
