Description:
Narrow in youth, becoming massive and broad with age. The largest acorns produced among our native oaks have a large, fuzzy cap covering most of the nut. Young stems have corky ridges giving a unique silhouette in winter. Tolerant of nearly any soil moisture conditions, and the best oak for handling urban conditions.
